I recently shared Zoya Matte Velvet Collection review and swatch post. I wanted to do Matte and Shine nails showing comparison. But the holographic top coat effect wasn’t clearly visible in previous post because of same color base. So i re-visited the Matte and shine nails design with contrast colors from Zoya Matte Velvet Nail polishes and normal top coat. This post also features my review, experience and tips for Nail Vinyls from Snail vinyls.
All the swatches are 2 coats without top coat while i have used Oriflame Clear shine Top coat on accent nails.
Zoya Matte Velvet collection – Posh with Wavy Nail Vinyls from Snail Vinyls
I started with Zoya Posh as Matte base nails. For accent matte and shine nails, i used Wave snail vinyls along with Oriflame top coat. Zoya Posh looks gorgeous in Matte as well shine version. I have used wave stripes for this Matte and shine nails. Once we peel the stripes the left overs can also be used, like i have used Chevron in one of following manis.
Zoya Matte Velvet collection – Veruschka with moroccan stencil from Snail Vinyls
I started with Zoya Veruschka as base Matte nails. For accent matte and shine nails, i used moroccan stencil from snail vinyls along with Zoya Posh and Oriflame top coat. Moroccan Stencils come unpeeled. Since the middle cut outs are very small, it can be tricky to use at first. How I like to use them is fold the corner of the stencil sheet. Then using a tweezer start peeling stencil in 45 degree angle. This helps to peel off stencil without pulling along the cut outs.
I applied Zoya Loredana as base Matte nails. For accent matte and shine nails, i first applied Zoya Dovima as matte base. Then used triangle swirls stencils from Snail vinyls along with Zoya Loredana and Oriflame top coat. I was concentrating on getting my swirls vinyls placement correct so I could not click pics on how i did this. I will try to cover my tips to use swirls vinyls in upcoming posts.
Zoya Matte Velvet collection – Dovima With Zebra Snail Vinyls.
I applied Zoya Dovima as base Matte nails. For accent matte and shine nails, i first applied Zoya Loredana as matte base. Then used Zebra Snail Vinyls and Oriflame Top coat. This matte and shine nails show matte version of Zoya Dovima, one of my favorites in this collection. I also added cute 3D Butterfly Charm on the ring finger.
Zoya Matte Velvet collection – Harlow with Staggered Chevron nail stencils from Snail vinyls
I applied Zoya Harlow as base Matte nails. For shine accent nails, i first applied Zoya Savita as matte base. Then used Staggered Chevron nail stencils from Snail vinyls along with Zoya Harlow andd Oriflame Cristal Clear top coat. The Staggered Chevron nail stencils are quite long piece. Also the chevrons cut outs are unpeeled. Following is my tips to make best use of these sheets:
I first cut the piece in half from center. Then as mentioned above, using same corner fold and 45 degree peel formula, I peeled the stencil using tweezer. This leaves all chevron cut out pieces on the paper. Then place the stencil on nails as desired.
Zoya Matte Velvet collection – Savita with chevron nail vinyl from Snail Vinyls.
For this matte and shine nails, I applied Zoya Savita as base Matte nails. For accent matte and shine nails, i first applied Zoya Harlow as matte base. Then used chevron nail vinyl from Snail Vinyls. I had already used lot of Chevron stripes in my previous manis. So i had left over chevron sheets with me. In this mani I utilised the left over Chevron Vinyl piece to make best use of them. The cute 3D Polka dot Butterfly Charm on the ring finger can be purchased from Here.
Overall, i am happy with all the designs and quality of Snail Vinyls. You can buy them from their website.
